Course Description
Join Yassaman for an engaging 4-week illustration course designed to introduce beginners to the fundamentals of visual storytelling while encouraging imagination, experimentation, and personal expression. The course provides a supportive environment where ideas can be developed into visual form through drawing.
Participants will explore key illustration skills, including character design, environment creation, and colour exploration. With guidance throughout the course, you will learn how to visualise narratives from your own ideas or existing texts and translate them into compelling visual stories. Each session builds on the previous one, helping to develop confidence in drawing and creative thinking.
Lessons include references from both art history and contemporary illustration, offering insight into how artists approach storytelling across different styles and contexts. Alongside structured learning, the course encourages experimentation, allowing new ways of working and expressing ideas visually.
Rather than focusing on a single outcome, the course emphasises exploration and practice. Participants create a variety of original characters and illustrated scenes, helping build a foundation in visual storytelling and develop an individual creative voice.
This course is suitable for beginners interested in illustration, visual storytelling, character creation, and imaginative drawing in a supportive studio environment.
