Course Description

Join us for a creative screen printing course taking place on Wednesday mornings (10am–1pm), perfect for anyone looking to explore printing on textiles. Suitable for beginners and those with some experience, this hands-on workshop will guide you through the process of designing and printing your own work, including custom tote bags or T-shirts, as well as prints on paper.

Across the sessions, you will learn how to develop bold, effective imagery for print, prepare your designs, and gain practical experience with screen preparation, stencil-making, colour fundamentals, ink mixing, and fabric printing techniques. You’ll explore a variety of hand-drawn approaches, with support in translating your ideas into striking imagery. We will explore text, pattern, monoprint, stencils, and a range of different printing processes.

With an emphasis on experimentation and personal expression, you’ll be encouraged to explore colour, layering, and composition to create unique pieces. By the end of the course, you will have produced your own prints on paper and, if you wish, printed on a fabric tote bag or T-shirt that you bring along, while gaining the skills and confidence to continue screen printing independently.

All basic materials and equipment will be provided; just bring your ideas and clothes you don’t mind getting inky!

Complimentary refreshments are provided, including coffee, a range of teas, and biscuits.
