Abstract Painting Taster Session
£43.00
Class Description
Taster sessions take place during the first two weeks of the full 10-week Abstract Painting course. You’ll join the regular class, meet the tutor and experience the teaching, studio environment and course approach before deciding whether to continue with the full course.
The course explores the relationship between observation, figuration and abstraction. During your taster session, you’ll work alongside existing students and take part in the scheduled class activity, using drawing or painting to explore colour, composition, form, surface and paint application.
Depending on the weekly programme, the session may involve working from the human figure, still life, natural forms, memory or imagination. The tutor will guide you throughout, helping you experiment with ways to simplify, distort, and reimagine recognisable forms.
The class suits all levels, from those with little experience to practising artists looking to develop a more personal approach to figurative and abstract painting.
If you decide to continue, you’re welcome to enrol on the full 10-week Abstract Painting course, subject to availability.
