Course Description
Develop confidence in watercolour painting through this structured 10-week programme designed for beginners and intermediate students. Guided by step-by-step tuition, you’ll build confidence while developing the essential techniques needed to create expressive and accomplished watercolour paintings.
Throughout the course, you’ll explore fundamental watercolour methods including wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry painting, transparent layering, colour theory, fresh colour palettes, light and shadow, aerial perspective and creating convincing three-dimensional form. Working from a variety of subjects, including still life, flowers, architecture and landscapes, you’ll gradually develop both your technical ability and creative confidence.
Each class combines tutor demonstrations with practical studio exercises, allowing you to apply new techniques as you learn. Every session concludes with a supportive group critique, providing valuable feedback and helping you build your skills week by week in a friendly studio environment.
Unlike our Independent Watercolour Group, this course follows a carefully planned weekly programme, making it ideal for students who want structured tuition, progressive learning and a solid foundation in watercolour painting.
