Course Description

This Introduction to Acrylics course explores the key materials and techniques for building confidence in acrylic painting. You will begin by learning about brushes, surfaces and paint handling, while developing essential skills in mark-making and colour mixing.

Throughout the 10-week course, you will practise a range of acrylic techniques, from translucent layered applications to more expressive textured effects using palette knives. These approaches help you understand how to control depth, surface quality and visual impact in your work.

Acrylic paint is a versatile medium that allows both precision and spontaneity, making it suitable for beginners and for those with some previous painting experience who wish to strengthen their technical foundation.

By the end of the course, you will have developed greater confidence in using acrylic paints and a deeper enjoyment of the painting process. All materials are included, except canvas, which can be purchased at the school.

Complimentary refreshments are provided, including coffee, a range of teas, and biscuits.
