Class Overview

• Join us for a focused one-off Introduction to Portrait Drawing & Painting taster session in North London, suitable for beginners and those with some previous experience who want to explore portraiture before committing to the full 10-week course.
• This session introduces key principles of portrait drawing through guided studio practice, including facial proportions, tone and observation skills. Depending on the class activity, you may also explore basic painting approaches.
• The studio is a short journey from Crouch End, Finsbury Park, Archway, and Highgate.

Class Description

• You’ll join an ongoing Introduction to Portrait Drawing & Painting class and take part in a guided studio session focused on the core techniques used in portraiture. The session focuses on practical portrait exercises using pencil or charcoal, depending on the class activity that day.
• This taster gives you a genuine sense of the teaching style, class pace and studio atmosphere of the full course. Individual guidance is provided throughout the session, making it suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to strengthen their portrait skills.
• If you decide to continue, you’re welcome to enrol on the full 10-week Introduction to Portrait Drawing & Painting course, subject to availability.
• Most basic materials are included.
