Taster sessions run alongside our regular classes and can be booked for either Monday or Tuesday sessions during the term, subject to availability.

Class Overview

  • Join us for a relaxed one-off taster class (introduction to oil painting) in North London, designed for those who want to experience working with oil paint before committing to the full 10-week Introduction to Oil Painting course.
  • Suitable for beginners and more experienced artists, the session introduces the foundations of oil painting, including colour mixing, tone, and brushwork.
  • The studio is a short journey from Crouch End, Finsbury Park, Archway, and Highgate.

  • You’ll join an ongoing Introduction to Oil Painting class and take part in a guided painting session exploring the core elements of oil painting.

  • Working with colour, tone, and brushwork, you’ll gain a first-hand experience of how oil paint behaves and how images are gradually built on the surface.

  • The session includes demonstrations, practical guidance, and individual feedback throughout, giving you a genuine insight into the teaching style, pace, and atmosphere of the full course.

  • If you decide to continue, you’re welcome to enrol on the 10-week Introduction to Oil Painting course, subject to availability.
