Caroline Elliot

Tutor - Introduction to Printmaking / Collographs Printing
Brief info

Caroline is a printmaker and artist with many years of experience creating and teaching art.

With a degree in Textile Print, she has worked across a wide range of creative industries, including film, theatre, opera, television, arts regeneration, arts and health, and education. She has taught art in art schools and further education, and is trained in adult education within the lifelong learning sector.

While she teaches many aspects of the visual arts — including drawing, pastels, watercolours, acrylics and abstract work — her main passion is printmaking. The process of transferring colour, shapes and lines through print often reveals new ways of seeing the work and creates unexpected visual narratives.

She specialises in collograph printing, a contemporary form of etching, as well as monoprint, drypoint, silkscreen and other printmaking techniques. She also encourages students to explore artists who have incorporated printmaking into their artistic practice.

Caroline strongly believes that visual arts enable each individual to discover their unique creative voice, and she has extensive experience supporting both beginners building confidence and skills, as well as students with more advanced artistic backgrounds.
