Yassaman Emami

Yassaman Emami is an Iranian illustrator based in London. She holds a BA in Graphic
Design from Isfahan Art University and an MA in Illustration from the University of
Tehran. She is currently pursuing an MA in Children’s Literature: Children’s Book
Illustration at Goldsmiths, University of London.
With over seven years of experience, Yassaman has taught illustration and drawing
at universities, art schools, and academies in Iran. Alongside her teaching, she has
built a freelance practice, collaborating on a range of illustration projects. Her work
was recently shortlisted for the V&A Illustration Award.
Yassaman works across a variety of fields, including children’s book illustration,
adult illustration, and comic strips. She often writes and illustrates her own stories,
combining narrative and visual storytelling in her practice.
Her work explores different materials and techniques, including watercolour,
acrylics, pastels, coloured pencils, and digital media.
